After years of inflation, it came as no surprise that people were not big fans of grocery shopping. So we created a campaign to show them that Stop & Shop feels their pain and is doing something about it. With the right spokesperson and a little humor, we’re promising that good things are in store at Stop & Shop.

The challenge

Shopping doesn’t have to suck

Tell the world that Stop & Shop is making savings easier for everyone.

The strategy

Okay, call it a comeback

Stop & Shop has been on a journey. In response to consumer pain points, they launched a plan to improve their shopping experience over time. Our challenge was to reintroduce those changes in a way that felt authentic, engaging, and human. So we crafted a message that acknowledged shoppers' frustrations, celebrated progress, and brought it all to life with a wink and a smile.

The creative

Meet Justin: the voice a generation

Okay, maybe he’s not the voice of a generation. But as our spokesperson, he is the new voice and face of Stop & Shop. The bright-eyed and enthusiastic employee who always goes the extra mile—or twenty six. And that’s what makes him so darn lovable. Over three nights of shooting with director Pete Marquis of Good Behavior, our Justin character bobbed and weaved his way through every part of the store delivering the goods. From our main messages to gut-busting improv comedy, Justin embodied everything there is to love about grocery shopping.
